OHAN (Oak Hill Association of Neighborhoods) is an umbrella organization of neighborhoods founded in 1985 to enhance and preserve the quality of life in Oak Hill and its surrounding communities. All OHAN member neighborhoods are located in Southwest Austin and Single-Member City Council District 8.


OHAN'S PURPOSE

OHAN provides a forum within which Oak Hill and its surrounding communities can identify, discuss, and provide input about

  • regional issues that affect our community;
  • ways to best manage growth to enhance the quality of life and opportunities offered to all who live within our community;
  • public services and facilities within our community;
  • improving transportation resources, including roadways and public transportation;
  • enhancing, expanding and preserving our community’s parks, nature preserves, greenways and recreation facilities
  • education and school-related issues that affect our community; and
  • preserving, protecting, and managing and enjoying natural resources and wildlife within our community.

OHAN BENEFITS

OHAN is a non-partisan community group which provides input to many regional organization through monthly meetings, dialogue, presentations, and public correspondence, including resolutions, letters, and representation at public meetings. These organizations include Austin City Planning Commission, Staff, City Council, Police and Fire/EMS Departments, Texas Department of Transportation, Travis County officials, governmental bodies, elected officials. Through its membership, OHAN strengthens and preserves regional neighborhood associations, and the relationships and bonds between them.

OHAN MEMBERSHIP

Want to learn about how are your tax dollars being spent? Curious about the status of community improvements like sidewalks, parks, nature preserves, community gardens and greenways, or projects related to the new Fire Station, the "Y" in Oak Hill, SH45 or MoPac? Interested in Oak Hill nature trails, and bike lanes, and multi-use trails? The member neighborhoods discuss these and many other important issues affecting the way of life in Oak Hill.

OHAN Membership Meetings

Unless otherwise notified, OHAN's membership meetings are held via Zoom.

Meetings generally occur monthly on the third Wednesday of the month, with the exception of December and July/August. Meeting times and dates may change.
