Laura Lancaster Faulk - OHAN Tresurer

I am a native Texan, having lived in Austin for over 25 years and in Oak Hill for the past 16 years (2 years in the Village of Western Oaks neighborhood and 14 years in the Beckett Estates neighborhood). I graduated from Southwestern University with a double major in Sociology and Psychology; moved to Austin right out of college and worked for the City of Austin for 8 years. For the past 10 years I have been employed by St. David's Episcopal Day School as their Director. I am married with 2 children, both in high school. My husband was the Manager of Golf and Tennis for the City of Austin until retirement in 2003. He is currently working in golf course architecture.

Over the past 25 years I have seen Austin grow and change in good ways and sometimes bad. I have worked on neighborhood issues in Oak Hill off and on since living here and currently represent the Beckett Estates neighborhood as its OHAN representative. Beckett Estates is an older neighborhood (1950s) with a large lot, country feel. As Southwest Austin continues to grow I am interested in preserving the country feel of Oak Hill, with green space and nature for the area. This is our home and I am committed to working for growth that is appropriate for the neighborhoods of Oak Hill.
